Navratri –
Nav = 9, Ratri = nights. These 9 nights are Devine nights to achieve. Doesn’t matter what, your may achieve power, money, name, fame, peace, prosperity etc but also may achieve crime, guilt, conspiracy, offence as well. The power is same but depends how the users are. Navratri is specially for Goddess Durga, as every one needs her power. But if you see the facts stated in Markandey Puran, (Devi Mahatmya, Mahishasur Vadh, chaper -2) Goddess Durga was the incarnation of the combine power of Visnu & Shiva. Then everyone gave his/her power to Durga. She is thus the combination of all Gods, Goddesses and their powers. A few people know that Navratri is the night to awake for the Gods & Goddesses. They come on the street to give, just like Santa Claus, never mind whatever you ask. Good to enjoy, bad to suffer, but they SHALL give. Many people do prayers, some do siddhi and some do black magic, but all are successful. Doing Yagya in Navratri not only guarantees the result but also doubles the outcome.
Navratri doesn’t mean always 9 nights. It depends upon Lunar Days (tithi) that can make a gap (kshay Tithi) or exceed (adhik tithi) too. Therefore this time navratri is from 4.10.2005 to 11.10.2005.
According to Devi Bhagwat, Navratri is the time while Durga took several incarnationS to kill the devils therefore we celebrate it.
After Navratri, comes Vijaya (victorius) Dashami (10th day/tithi) or Dashahara. Dasha (ten) Hara (waiver) means it eliminates your 10 types of sins you might have committed. According to Ramayan, Lord Ram, got victory over Ravan (de devil) on this day, therefore we celebrate Dashashara.
Navratri and dashahara are celebrated in whole India as well as in abroad. You can visit any Hindu-Temple to enjoy and participate in prayers. There are several pilgrims of Devi or Kali where she believable still lives. These are called Siddha Peeth or Shakti Peeth. These are the centers of devotees however somewhere black magic too is exercised. The most famous Navratri Celebration is at the Kali Temple, Kolkata, India.
It’s advisable not to miss this golden time, We wish you all peace and prosperity on this auspicious occasion.
